Massport: Logan Roadway Rehabilitation
Logan International Airport, Massachusetts
Project Description:
As part of the FAA funded Airport Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, Airport Terminal and Tower Project Information Grant (BIL), ten roadways at Logan Airport will be rehabilitated to restore their condition, update accessible routes along the selected roads, and provide wayfinding in the form of updated pavement markings. To be eligible for grant funding the project must by completed by November of 2022 for submission to the FAA by December of 2022. The project was granted Notice to Proceed in October of 2022. With a significantly compressed project schedule, RND was tasked with providing CAD drawings for four of the ten roadways associated with the project. In just over a month, RND and the project team took the project from 0% to 100% design. RND reviewed the existing conditions of the assigned roadways and assisted in providing CAD drawings including alignments, profiles, corridors, cross-sections, sheet sets, and utility networks. RND also reviewed structural and civil drawings as well as construction phasing and calculations.
